Introductory Entry

Thinking is no mean trick but with the pressure to do it often enough to justify readers visiting, maybe I will develop the habit of doing it.

Here is the basic orientation of this blog: what is, is; what is not, as a famous philosopher once said, we should pass over. I will do my best to focus on what has some sort of Being. Maybe not complete being but something close enough.

Ahhh, yes. Thinking. I tend to side with the famous journalist on this one:
"A great many people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices."
Edward R. Murrow (1908 - 1965)

Not only that, once we have succeeded in doing some real thinking, there's also the problem of trying to communicate what we mean to someone else! I honest and truly did hear this a couple of years ago, "I know you THINK you understood what you think I said, but I wonder if you realize that what I said is not what I meant." (Overheard at a Weight Watchers Leader Training in 2005.)

A seriously belated congratulations on the start of what appears to be an excellent blog!
apparently, he's now trying to buy them out-but is being looked at by the anti-monopoly people.
